Description:

Abstract:: Data generated by aerial sensing of radiation emanating from the earth's surface in Alaska provides general estimates of the geographic distribution of Uranium, Thorium, and Potassium in surficial and bedrock units throughout this area.
Purpose:: The grids were re-projected and geotiff images created for distribution using internet map services.

AKfltlin.gdb - this database contains flight-line data for the aerial surveys.

After completion of all corrections, grids of the various data channels were calculated using a minimum curvature algorithm and a grid cell of 5 km.

Merged aeromagnetic anomaly data are provided in AKMagMrg.GRD.

Gridded gamma-ray emission data are provided for Potassium (kfilt.grd), Thorium (thfilt.grd), and Uranium (ufilt.grd).
